
Be honest. How many emails are sitting in your inbox right now that are really just tasks in disguise? Client requests. Team questions. Random “we should really do this” ideas. You’re not deleting them because you need to do something about them. But you’re also not doing anything about them because they’re just… in your inbox. That’s not a system. That’s a holding tank with anxiety attached. ClickUp’s Email to List feature is the fix.
Every list inside your ClickUp workspace has a unique email address. Forward an email to it and ClickUp catches it as a task automatically. No copying. No pasting. No “I’ll move that over later” (which we both know means never).
Go to any list in your ClickUp space. Hover over the list name and click the list settings icon. You’ll see an “Email to List” option with a unique email address. Copy it. Save it as a contact in Gmail. Done. From now on, when an email needs to become a task, you forward it there.

I have two lists – one for CEO tasks (mine) and one for admin tasks (Laura’s). Each has an automation: tasks created in the CEO list assign to me, tasks in the admin list assign to Laura. When I forward an email to the admin list, Laura gets a task. I don’t touch it again. That’s the difference between forwarding an email and actually delegating.
